I asked local, working moms, "What's the one thing you wanted to hear most when you went back to work after maternity leave?" And many responded with some form of reassurance, such as, "You're doing the right thing."
A mother’s decision to return to work (or not) after having a baby is entirely her own and her family’s. Yet there’s no shortage of judgement and advice (from others or even herself) to make her second-guess that decision at times. It’s also not an easy one, often drudging up so many mixed emotions even after a decision is made.
This card aims to take some of that mental weight off a mama’s shoulders and let her know: it’s okay to feel alllll the feels! It also lets her know she’s got an ally in you, at her work away from home.
